Bigshot texted me late last night with news of reaching another final table. In another Stars $4+0.40 180 man tourney. Pretty solid form from him. He ended up taking 3rd spot and a $86 pot. I believe 1st would take a $216 pot so pretty close to a reasonable score.
I plumped for a 9 man SNG on Stars last night and with no cards pretty much used selective aggression and lots of folding to get myself a third place slot and earn $4 profit. I then decided to try a little low limit heads-up. My first game I started super aggressive taking down about six pots with raises. I re-raised his opening raise with AA and was put all-in. Nice. He shows JJ so an understandable push from him. It wasn't quite so good when he hits a Jack on the river. I staged a brave comeback with a very short stack, playing very aggressively but with a short stack I lost with middle pair against a slow played top pair.
The second game I played the guy limped pre-flop always. Folded out of position almost always and let me take down most pots pre-flop. He would play back only occasionally and I though I would take down the small pots and be on a free-roll when he did play back. I hit middle pair on a flop and call his min-raise hoping to catch trips or two pair but fully expecting to be behind when I do. I get a flush draw on the turn adding to my outs and am priced in to make a call. When the flush hits I bet slightly over pot to look like a bluff and get called. My K flush loses to his A flush (he had AA). Outplayed on that one I guess.
On the third game I fully expect to make amends getting it all in with pocket fours which give me a full house on the turn and he had trips. He hits an Ace to give him a better full house and I drop a third buy-in. What a terrible heads-up record I now hold. Played 4. Won 1.

HU SNGs? Otherwise you'd be rebuying to max LDO....
And BigShot is clearly the best tournament player amongst us.
Yeah they were SNG. They all vanished into the ether after taking my 2 dalla. May play these on occasion to sharpen my game. The tight player who was waiting for a big hand was an interesting style. He actually changed gear as well once he was well ahead. Maybe just trying to put me out of my misery quickly.
I wonder if his ranking will now outstrip Moocher's? I believe Bigshot is having another pop tonight. He does reinvest his winnings onto higher stake games. If he ever final tables there he could have a lot of money at stake.
