1st hand I think they might have 3 of a kind with a better kicker than you. Bet half the pot? You can see how his aggression makes it more difficult to put him on a hand.
2nd hand is difficult also - maybe 3 of a kind for him vs your 2 pair. Semi bluff the flush with an up to pot size bet?
Agree on his range for hand 1 but I think you miss the fact that I hit a full house on the river.
Hand 2 - I think your semi-bluff would work although I think its pretty much a bluff! I checked behind and he had 77 with a club. I think he probably would have folded a pot sized bluff but any attempt to bluff cheaply could easily have been called.
Doh - clearly I did miss it - must have been working or something!
Actually I think his range includes an Ax and even a medium pair on Hand 1.
Hand 1 - I checked to maybe get an extra bet out of an ace or KK/QQ and even if he is also make a bet likely if he was starting to worry about his kicker.
He bets $2 which looks like a blocking bet. I reraise to $7 and he folds.
Sklansky is good on this. you suss out what he might have and what he is likely to pay off and work out the best bet size. So rather than trying to get an extra dollar or two out of an ace or KK you might be better trying to get money from trip 9's. I think this might be the case here - so happy with the bet size.
Hand 2 - I got my money in ahead. Could maybe have bluffed him off his hand.
