For the first range by his river bet I have him on AQ, KQs, JQs.
Its nicely played on the end assuming you would also get it allin with a big draw on occasion.

The second hand I put him on QQ. Very possibly a Jack with a poor kicker but I'm sure he would make a crying call with even a J2 for $15.

He had AQ the first one (do you think he is a CR donk?)and on the second if he had J2 then he had me beat. I put him on a Jack with a low kicker that didn't connect. Would have been a nightmare if he had Kojak.

Bad play by him on the first hand unless you had been getting completely out of line. Maybe calling the flop bet is not too bad to see if you fire again. Calling the turn is bad. Betting the river is okay but he should realise that he is beat by your allin. You have fired on all 3 streets even with a river raise TPTK aint gonna be good.

For the second hand I meant a low Jack but I've given the hand some more thought and I see from Poker-Edge he is pretty tight (a bomb) so has to have a pretty tight raising criteria as he is under the gun. Other than the impossible JJ I find it difficult to see him having a Jack in his hand.
The fact you and the big blind call though I suspect means that it was a high octane table (true?) with a few bluffs being run I'll see it as a possibility. His $3 flop c-bet doesn't mean much but his call means that he
is on a J probably looking to get raised, a decent pair, possibly a high club draw eg AcKc. His turn bet is definitely a blocking bet - range might include.
JQ, JK, AJ, TT, KK, AA,QQ,AKs, AQs.
I think your raise on the turn would have got rid of a flush draw. I think he would have been happy getting his money in with KK,KJ and AJ so he likely had one of the following hands:
AA,QQ,JQ,TT.
I think your turn raise would probably have scared off TT too so revise that range to.
AA,QQ,JQ.
I think he would have probably wanted to bet a bit more to on the turn with QQ as he would be worried about an A or K hitting.
I've decided he either had AA or QJ.
I think he would have probably called with QJ on the river for just $15 and you probably convinced him you had a better hand when you bet out with a King on the board.
He might have thought your raises were more likely to be a high pair finding out if they are good rather than a Jack seeking value. He didn't want to believe you that is for sure as he took some convincing you actually had a J!
AA it was!

Do you think if I bet more he would be more likely to call? My $15 looks like a value bet, or probe bet looking for a raise to call. If I just go AI then maybe he thinks I'm chancing it and calls?
Table was fairly loose - but I'd been quite tight to that point and had folded some hands on the turn and river for $5-$10 bets.

Interesting that the hands were consecutive also - after the showdown on the previous one the second guy paid no heed.

Interesting point about sizing value bets not to look like value bets. I had a good player make a bet that looked like a bluff when a flush hit on the river. I called because it really looked like he wanted me to fold. He had it. A lot of people are more willing to call if your bet looks like you are bluffing. I sometimes use the same tactic I had used against me and bet to represent a bluff when it is a very obvious one and get paid off a lot. Pretty tricky to work out when to call though. Phil Gordon's advice is to vary your value bets randomly around that point in a bell-curve so you are always betting the perfect amount on average but its harder to read your bet for what it is.
