Climbing the hill I've just slipped down (Live game?)

Another winning session last night. I'm actually tracking at just 50% winning sessions at the moment but still keeping above 10PTBB mark at 50NL and above 25PTBB/100 at 25NL (with disastrous stats for 10NL during my bad spell!).

I win $25 in the first round of the table last night and despite handing $15 of it back I managed to climb back up and ended $40 up on the night. I still see room for improvement as well and still mistakes creeping into my game that if I can cut out of my game should save me $$ aplenty.

With a long weekend ahead I think a live game should be 'on the cards'. Although I now have a suitable venue I don't yet have the furniture as Mrs P ditched the existing chairs and I haven't bought new ones yet. Any other venues available? A Thursday or Saturday night game perhaps?

Moocher's Royal Straight

I think this is worthy of a post of its own.

Moocher sees a flop with his ATs.

JJQ flop leaves him with a gutter and a flush draw.

Turn brings a Kc for a beautiful Royal Straight.

River brings a second K giving him the ultimate nuts on an action board. Two full houses watch him turn over poker's sweetest hand and of course victory cannot be denied the Mooch!

Do give us some insight into the betting before this Moocher. Did they both have Jacks for the full house or did someone get there with a King?

And the other big question what percentage of your stack did you have to get in in order to hit your RS?

Doesn't it make you want to pay cash games though!

Pocket 3s - Interesting hand

BB has $70 and I cover. He has been fairly tight 20/15/3 and is capable of getting it in without the nuts. He had reraised my raises four times. I played back on the 5th attempt and stacked him with AA v AK. He reloaded and has built up his stack since then. He seems pretty solid and I haven't seen him do anything unusual at all.

Button limps. I call with pocket 3s and BB checks.

Flop A63 rainbow.

I bet $1.10

BB bets $3.50

I raise $6.50

BB raises $22.50

I call.

Turn A ( still rainbow)

I check

BB bets $25

Phillberto?

Whats his range here? Whats my play?

So a mixed bag this week. Mr Consistancy rediscovers the existence of variance. Phillberto sees things moving in the right direction for the first time in a while. Moocher shows up with a very strong week to make amends for last weeks dip after a consistant spell and ensures Deadly now has a pack on his tail albeit somewhat in the distance but hopefully dogged in their pursuit now he has shown some frailty!

Bigshot manages a winning week as well and now needs to string together some consistancy if he wants to keep chipping away at his deficit. Lamma Jim edges closer and closer to bankruptcy but at 10NL might yet just turn things around.

Despite three positive reports though Deadly's loss ensures a small dip in the Lamma Poker Exchange.

Turned the corner?

At the risk of tempting fate I've finally managed something that has eluded me for a while. Back to back winning sessions. Opting for a 50NL game and a simultaneous $5 SNG I crashed out in 5th place of the tourney but hardly put a foot wrong in the cash game finishing $87 to the good after 100 hands and now running hot at 30PTBB/100 at 50NL. Two biggest hands of the night below.

So finally the updated figures. I multitable SNGs but have a pretty mediocre ROI which doesn't really seem to justify the time. I then go over to cash games and give away half my stack before topping up and somehow losing all my stack with TT on a 9xx board to lose to a turned straight. I forget all about poker during my Bali trip and hopefully the break will do my good and I can start with a clean slate and not worry about winning lost money back but just concentrating on playing good poker.

I take the plunge and play 50NL last night. I am down for most of the session but get paid off with trips towards the end to make it +$10 session and place third in my one simultanous SNG tourney. Hope that meagre win will springboard me back to winning play.

I do manage to cash some more money out restocking Bigshots account so at least have managed to take some money out of the poker economy and is being stashed in a slush fund for a rainy day.

Deadly's rise to dizzying wealth continues. My stuttering and stumbling continues as I mix up losing on cash games with losing on Sit and goes. Moocher's winning run comes to an end and Bigshot heads a step closer to busting out. All rainclouds with only Deadly 'silver lining' DP keeping the flag flying.

Return to SNG - Day 2 and 3

Tuesday saw me continue with my return to SNG. Multitabled two tourneys at a time and got off to a bad start. Finished second and third on the last two games though to breakeven for the night.

Tried again last night and managed another four games. Got off to a flier in one game and got up to 5,000 chips but got overconfident and wasted my lead. Ended up placing in three of the four games. I'm running on 'in the money' % and ROI of over 50% so not going too bad. I even managed 30 hands at 25NL to get back on the shortish stack and hopefully can now build on that to post a winning week for a change.

Deadly extends his already big lead at the top and chalks up another great week playing both Omaha and Pot limit on Full Tilt. Nice work.

I bust out at Poker4Ever and revert back to my first love SNG's. The old 9 man Stars numbers. I did try out some $5+0.25 Headsup matches. Took down the first, lost the second and then had a very long battle with my opponent almost no showdowns. I raised bigger than normal, which he then reraised. I then shoved and he called with 46s. My Kings were a pretty big favourite. A nervous moment when he flops a 4 and then a 6 on the turn and river gives him a fullhouse.

I take the good wives advice and give it a rest for a while after that. I play a few more SNGs and finish 4th twice before winning at the third attempt. The first bubble loss was TT on the button versus AT and he hits on the river.

Doubt it will improve my money much but in view of my recent slide I will stick with the SNGs for a while will I avoid the possibility of tilting off money playing cash games.

Lamma_Jim continues his worrying slide towards poker bankruptcy while Moocher continues in the right direction and now has me firmly in his sights.

Bigshot is one bad session away from bust-out himself but manages to take a baby step in the right direction.

We also hear tale of a Headsup cash game resulting in LammaJim staging a major recovery in the Live Game stakes with Bigshot being the donator.

Mmm. There is some history here. He has been using his big stack well and putting pressure on the other players to build up his stack. Prior to the bubble I'd avoided putting all my chips on the line. I doubt he would make this move with a big pair. AK is the hand I'm worried about. Busted

Ouch. Although I'd cashed out most of my winnings from Poker4Ever I had left myself $100 or so. I'd worked it up to $230 or so but then taken a hit in recent weeks. I started yesterday with $105 playing one 20NL and one 50NL table. Set over setted once again and then AK on a J96AA board facing a pot sized push. I called to see 99 and I was officially butso. My two attempts to signing in on a new site failed as they won't accept players from Hong Kong.

Pissed off I decided that I'd settle for a $5+0.50 Sit n Go to avoid any tilt losses.

Still ahead for the year but a bad start to a new quarter and my plans lying in a crumpled heap.
