This is probably the only guy that I try and avoid on Poker4ever. It was the only table on the go though so I decided to get involved.
Reads: Brader seems to be one of the best players on the site. Always seems to have 4 or 5 stacks (and multi-tables) often at higher stakes. Can be very aggressive, can be tricky and can make bluffs (as well as well sized value bets).

4ever is a long time
Managed to clear my Poker4Ever $200 bonus during the mid-Autumn Festival. Edged my account up by another $40 in the process. I have a second bonus that should have kicked in automatically for another $50 (I've emailed support to sort out). With a bit of luck that will take me over the 3K mark (taking into account money lent to Moocher). With my monthly average being pretty consistant it looks like my next challenge will be to hit 4k in time for the bells chiming at midnight on Hogmanay. Mind you if I'm playing anywhere near midnight on Hogmanay I think it is more likely I'll have a bankroll of $0 and vague memories of moving allin with 7-2 UTG after sensing weakness in everyone else.
Had another try at a couple of $1 MTT on Stars. Was big chip leader at one stage and got allin preflop with AK v AJ and lost when a J hits on the river. Then put a short stack allin with 77 v 88 and lost. I lost another race and went out. From hero to zero in record time.
Need to assess my next move now to continue my bonus whoring ways.

Asian Poker Open Satellite in Lamma!
How about it?
For starters how about a $250 buy in SNG. If we get 8 people then winner get a buy-in for a $2000 SNG in Macau.
If that works well we could even look at having a Satellite for the $10,000 man tournament with Lamma sending our own representative. That would suit me. Maybe 5 of us putting in $2000 each and then the losers can still go and play the SNG side-events.
That would also make it easy for certain people to justify their trip because they won it. If you lose you of course don't mention it!
So I'm looking at
2 Lamma Satellites for SNG games ($500) in advance...
$2000 Lamma Satellite for $10,000 tourney entry (play on Friday maybe in Macau?)
HK$500 Satellite on Friday night
HK$2000 SNG on Saturday
HK$2000 SNG on Sunday.
So a maximum spend of HK$7,000.
Accommodation plus tournament fees and transport HK$2,000.
A bit of F&B it would work out maybe around 10K for the weekend.

Weekend action
So after my earlier session dealing a damaging blow to the confidence and a strong desire to drink red wine I decided to be 'sociable' and play poker in the living room! Opting for 45 man and 18 man SNGs I played three tourneys at a time and made at least three final tables. My $$$ win was probably around $20 but meant I was playing with confidence when I returned to Poker4Ever on Sunday morning. Playing two 20NL I could do no wrong. Just as I recovered my lossed from the previous mauling I made one big blunder. With AA in a reraised pot out of position it was a low mono-flop. I bet out and he called. With $11 in the pot and with him having exactly a pot sized bet left I decided to check raise allin. Of course he checked behind and a fourth heart landed. He then pushed on the river.
Maybe because I had been running so good I made a terrible crying call. Its not as if I really need another lesson of when to fold Pocket Rockets when I'm beat. AK for him for King high flush. Ah well I played on until I'd won that money back and called it a day.
Maybe two sessions away from a $200 bonus there now and then a second $50 bonus kicks in straight after.

Asian Poker Open
Here it is. The chance for real bragging rights.
http://www.asianpokeropen.com/
Lets get it on cos we don't get along!
I'm open to suggestions but I'm thinking of a trip across on the Friday morning. Playing the HK$10,000 tournament on Friday.
Playing the $2,000 SNG on both the Saturday and Sunday.
So who is in?

Running bad (and tilting)
Ouch. Suffered a nasty downswing last night.
Started off with the following hand.
I raised after one limper with JheartsTclubs to (1.75) in position and got a caller from the blinds.
Flop J clubs 9 diamonds 4 diamonds
(pot 3.75)
Turn 6 clubs
He bets $3 and I reraise for 8.50 and he calls.
River 2 diamonds
(Pot $20.75)
He bets pot.
There was a lot of bluffing going on and people showing down some very weak hands.
I called and he showed J8s for the flush.
Instead of just shrugging it off I almost immediately found myself with AQs at the other table on the button. I raised and saw a reraise from the big blind. Without thinking I hit the bet pot button to reraise. Doh! This left me with about $10 behind and I thought quite a pickle I had got myself in. With odds of almost 6-1 I couldn't fold. I hit the Q on the turn and thought I may steal it from AK but he had pocket rockets and I'd lost $95.
After that hand I closed it down and begin the long slow process of winning it all being playing solid poker another day.
So I try and start that process over lunch playing $5+0.25 HU SNG on Stars.
First one I get reraised on a flop 964 with a diamond draw and I have 94. We get it allin on the flop and he shows 64. 6 on the river. Kerpow!
I'm happy when I get reraised Aces called on the flop. Flop comes very dry, 10 high and no flush or draws on. He raises big betting 300 leaving only 400 left behind. Instead of pushing I just call. He gets it allin on the turn an 8. Whack!
He show T8o. I should have just folded him off.
Next game the guy raises me big on a KK7 flop. I have a seven and don't believe he would play a K like that. I push allin and he shows 67 but overcards mean we split the pot. Next hand my 77 loses to his JJ. Kaboosh!
$16 down on Stars to add to my woes.
After telling Deadly of my tilting episode he labelled it HSP syndrome. Very true. You just don't believe people have it! On 50NL they mostly do! Even Sammy Farha didn't call with AQ after such obvious 'big hand' action.
Oh well 4% of my bankroll gone. Some solid poker until I get my $200 bonus required methinks.

Climbing out of a small hole
Manage to turn around a $25 loss to record a $10 win. Taking a while to get the $200 bonus but I suppose I've not had a chance to put in many hours. I rail Moocher666 on a couple of tournaments and see him just make it through the bubble before popping but he had placed a couple of times already.
Welcome back Deadly - look forward to hearing your Tapas tales.
Watched the third episode of HSP on Sunday night. Mrs Phillberto's man Hellmuth got involved in an allin. I'll leave you to check whose man it was.

Quiet week it seems all round. Deadly on his hols. I'm away for the weekend so miss out on any weekend play and manage to blow $25 playing Dlag style (drunken loose aggressive gamer) on Friday night. 70% of the way to a $200 bonus so loose style at least helped there.
Moocher has two winning weeks in a row. Certainly not conclusive proof of a turnaround in his fortunes but a good indication. Lamma_Jim places in a 45 man tourney to recover from a bad week to a not so bad week. Bigshot struggles to keep his concentration and sees another dip in his recently restocked bankroll.
Team Lamma manage another winning week but we're hoping for better next week.

Ship it!
The only 50NL game on Poker4ever was full last night so I plumped for 2 20NL instead. Not as good for clearing the bonus but certainly helped my bankroll. US$74 to the good including three feltings. Last one was a peach. I'd suspected I was bluffed of a couple of good hands but not quite good enough to go to the felt. This guy 'Rockets' had started to eat into my winnings. I called a minraise by him with 75s. Flop K55. I bet out on the flop and he called. Turn brings nothing. He put in a small raise so I re-raised him and he called. The river is also blank and I opt to check it representing I hope a single King. If he has AK or AA he will bet it. He could well and push me off a hand he thinks I will fold. Allin. Call. Felt. He shows 89o - complete bluff. Later dude.
Playing the $1 MTTs on Stars Moocher also put in a string of solid performances to chalk up five top 5 finishes in the past two days. Heading towards another winning week.
Official Poker Ranking of 80,279 of 597,530.
More importantly an ROI of 64%.
Time to start eating into that deficit Moocher - looking good.
Bigshot also tries his hands at a deep MTT but doesn't get out of the shallow end.

High Stakes Poker
So has everyone watched the first two episodes of HSP yet then? Week 1 was a cracker. We seem to be a bit short of feltings though. Disappointing that noone has taken Mike Matasow - he is sure to be involved in a couple of pots where he puts it all on the line.
None of my boys involved yet - hoping Daniel and Barry will make an appearance soon.

So Deadly chalks up a three figure win to sign off before his European Grand Tour. I potter around playing 50NL on Poker4ever and after a couple of decent scores early proceed to give most of it right back. I railbird Moocher for a couple of tourneys and even join him from one. I seem to bring him luck as he finishes second in one and takes down another. My run comes to a premature end when I get allin preflop with AA to lose to a trip 3s that catch on the flop.
Lamma_Jim shows another winning week to the tune of a $1 gain as he climbs back towards positive territory. Lastly Bigshot checks in late with his results but his MTT results look slightly positive. He bubbles out after being chip leader after losing two races to see a slight decline in his roll and unfortunately its not a clean sweep for Team Lamma this week.

Short Stacks and Poker Rankings
Managed to fix my internet connection and get back online again yesterday. The Poker4ever game choice is very limited. The only Short handed 50NL game on the go was showing an average pot of $30! Three guys at the table had stacks of over $200 and there was some pretty manic play going on. I bought in for $10 to take advantage of what I assumed was going to be a pretty profitable situation. They were looking to hit disguised hands so there was some hefty raising going on very light. On my first hand there was an UTG raise, cold call, reraise and call from both players. I had trash so had to leave that but thought perfect situations to shove over the top would be plentiful. Unfortunately I didn't have a hand for four rounds.
Having played tight I decide to raise to $3 with 44 and get a caller from one of the manic big stacks. Flop comes. Axx it is. He thinks and folds. I then raise and push with KJ on a QJx flop and get a caller but win.
Shortly after with a preflop raise again with KJ and a low flop I get put allin and opt to fold.
Now sitting with AA on the button I see a limp and raise to $2 in front of me. I bump it up to $6 and get called by the limper. I'm happy to see the original raiser raise to $20 putting me allin. The limper also calls.
Flop J9x.
The limper pushes for around 180! and the original raiser folds.
J9 he shows and takes down a nice pot (lucktard!)
I sit a round out to regain my composure and rebuy in for $10. I continue my short stack strategy and build up to $30. I'm a little thorn in the side of the big stacks and they gradually disappear. I then rebuy in for another $20 to make me big stack and play normal poker.
Interesting little experiment and glad I persevered after the mauling of my pocket rockets. I also played a 20NL table at the same time and made a small profit after losing a half my stack early on. Chalk up a $28 winning session and build up a few more bonus points.
Moocher returned to the $1 Star MTT's and managed only one $2 win. However his new Poker Stars ranking after the impressive weekend results is just behind his On Game ranking:
98,427 of 587,770 (Poker Stars)
77,582 of 587,770 (On Game Network)

My hands in your hands
50NL on Poker 4 Ever
Hand 1
I raise under the gun with AKo (no spade) and get two callers. First guy is loose and likes to call any raise. Second guy has been very quiet and has just over $60 just covering me.
Flop: Kspades 8spades 4 clubs.
Pot: $5.50
Checked to me and I bet 3.50. BB calls.
Pot: 12.50
Turn: A spades
I bet $7.50 and he calls.
River: 9 diamonds.
He checks.
My play?
Hand 2
Background first. The earlier loose caller of above. I raise QQ on the button (1.75) having started off pretty loose at the table playing 4 hands in my first round of the table.
Short stack calls. Flop comes 336. He has $8 left and pushes. I call and felt him.
More background. I have 99 on the Big Blind and with four callers I raise to $3.40 and everyone folds.
The very next round exactly the same happens. Four callers and I have 99 again. This time I bet $2.50.
The loose guy calls me only.
Flop
J42 rainbow.
Pot: $6.50
He pushes for $14.

Lamma Poker Exchange: ...............2824 (+37)
Well, well well.....developments this week are spectacularly unspectacular. Deadly recovers from some unlucky hands only to make it back in a short spell against a few online donators. I miss any weekend action as I travel up to China for a football tourney. Moocher racks up a string of impressive performances in the $1 45 man tourneys - winning two and finishing second and third. Unfortunately its not enough the make amends for a disastrous cash game spell whilst under the influence. Bigshot presumably isn't getting much poker action in Dubai so is a no change. Which leaves Big JimmyB who fails to score in two attempts and is drifting down after his promising debut performance. Grand total of $37 up for team Lamma for the week. Rent prices unlikely to rise as a result despite the fresh influx of cash to the local economy.
