Greetings from the Walker Hill Casino and Hotel in lovely Seoul. That's right lovely.... because its a crisp fall day, the leaves are turning brown and the hotel/casino where i'm staying for this conference is situated on top of a hill over looking the water. The cooler weather also showcases the Korean babes in their very stylish winter coats and knee boots.
With not much to do at this conference, plenty of time for poker...Monday night - one poker table going at KWon1,000/2,000 (HK$6.50/HK$13). Minimum buy-in KWon200,000 (HK$2,600) and off we go.Fairly tight at first against a mixture of Korean american homeboys and some real American jar head types. Having a little trouble adjusting to
1)cash game since i've been playing mainly tourneys on line,
2)full nine person table,and
3)having to actually talk to people as i play
...Play it cool but the game is pretty fast and aggresive. Typical opening raise is HK$95 to HK$127. Lots of action, lots of reraising. Slowly get into the swing of things but my calibration is slightly off and am a little too tight.Unlike Phil, I really can't remember my hands but get felted twice in a roughly four hour session and leave with my tail between my legs down HK$2,550 for the night.Tuesday night. Get everything i need done, quick trip to the gym and down to the casino by 7 pm. Shorthanded table but i'm feeling much better. Recalibrate and things are going well. Slowing the playas file in and two tables going. At mine, two guys with big stacks throwing around HK$637 (KWon100,000) raises like its going out of style. Luckily for me, one of them doesn't know what he is doing and i take him down full house over flush - is there any better beat that that? for the winner of course - for about HK$3,800. A little later on, I'm dealt AA and KK back to back and both hold up. After a couple of hours i'm up HK$4,450.Did i mention free food and drink for the playas? Tell the pit what you want from any of the hotel restaurants and when its ready, they send you off to the dining room to munch it down.Had a beautiful warn onion tart with asparagus and a lobster bolognaise spagetti.Back to the table and its getting late night and the regulars start rolling in. Good players. And over the coming few hours get taken down big time twice for about HK$3,500 each time.As i said, can't remember the exact details but the first was straight over two pair and the second, to end my evening, was KK over QQ. I had QQ and raised under the gun, it folded around to the cut off who reraised by about 5x the pot. He had been playing very loose and very aggresive all night. Pushing for the straddle and raising every limped pot. I put him all in and he called and his KK held up.Marathon session that started at 7 pm and ended at 3 am. Down another HK$2,550 bringing my two day loss to HK$5,100.Tonight is my last night and back up for it ready or not...

Great trip report, sounds like you are adjusting - hopefully the last night you'll make it all back.
