Another losing session. A dip in confidence and a continuation of the twin themes of bad play and bad luck. I think Siegfried and Roy have to take the majority of the blame. For some reason Pocket Queens have been caused me to lose over $100 at Unibet and account for the vast majority of my losses. I started off well enough last night and was running about $40 up at one point but they then evaporated. The slide when it happened was dramatic and pretty soon I found myself in a big hole. I struggle with the players on this network. Min-reraising from position a lot. Min re-raising of c-bets or weakish leads into a pre-flop raiser on flops likely to have missed me. I end up in situations I'm unfamiliar with and end up calling too big bets when an unexpected hand hits for an opponent.
I ended up playing three tables and having a difficult call to make on one table which ended up me reraising with pocket Aces and getting called and then timing out before I could bet. I then rushed my call and called a bet with TPTK on the river against flopped trips. Ouch. The downside of multi-tabling.
On one table I'd built my initial buy-in up to 30 euros. In the big blind I was able to see a flop with 83s in a four way multi-way pot. Flop comes K84 giving me middle pair and a flush draw. I bet pot (0.80) and get one caller. The turn brings a 3 giving me two pair and still a flush draw. I bet pot again (1.60) and get called and the river brings the Ace to complete my flush. I bet 2.60 and I'm surprised to be reraised to 7 euros. I ponder a reraise but its considerable strength and still a decent amount behind me. I call and he show A5 for the nut flush. Sure I can't get away from that there and even wonder if without being results oriented that a push was a better play.
Ho hum. Another disaster looming and I can feel the red mist forming so I close down all the tables and spark up a 40 euros one and decide to play solid concentrated poker on one table. It works and I make 20 euros winning I think 6/6 showdowns and making some perfecly sized value bets. My losses come in at $20 and a welcome recovery but still a bad session. The software at Unibet means it is very difficult to multi-table so I may be wiser playing good poker at the 40 euros tables. Over half way to my 100 euro bonus I'm going to need that to reverse my poker losses. Not the way it is supposed to be.
Time to get back on track and stop trying to 'win' money back and time to start playing solid poker and let Miss Lady luck Variance decide when she will favour me.
Letting me win a hand with pocket Queens would be nice too.
