Don - Off the blocks soon?
Moocher reports a good week despite me having to knock some money off for miscalculating his starting point.
A rip-roaring week for me taking me to a new high-water mark after six months of leaking. Still waiting on other results. Apologies to Moocher. I've been using the wrong Starting total for you so $40 dropped off your running total this week.
I managed a grand total of 2,334 hand of 25NL over the course of the weekend. My initial 2 hour session at 30PTBB/100 was always going to be possible to maintain though. I started off with a session on Saturday morning. Despite getting off to a good start I had three big hands where I had to make decisions for all my chips.
I called the first to find I was against a bluff With AAxxx with AK. I made a very regrettable decision where I hit a flush on the flop of A8x with 63s. Bet, raise on the flop. Another Ace on the turn and it was check, bet, raise, reraise, min-reraise (from him) on the turn. I was left with $10 left with a $5 bet to me. I though to myself what hand could he be doing this with and I could only arrive at full-house or bigger flush. I folded to save myself $10 and he showed A4 for three of a kind. Ouch. I tell myself you have to be able to fold the best hand sometime.
The third hand I raise with AK. K8x on the flop and I decide to check to keep the pot small. He bets into me though and I call. I check the turn and he bets into me again. I prepare to fold if he fires another bullet on the river. River comes as an Ace and he fires. It’s on the same table as my other tough decisions and my timer has already run down. I decide to call with a sinking feeling but telling myself pot odds justify it. He shows 88 to take my stack.
I still finish the session $15 up but have let my PTBB/100 rate more that half to 14.
I have another session before bed having spent the night in Stanley. It starts off well with a $10 stack pushing into my Small Blind raise. Easy call with pocket rockets. I then run into a reraise from the blinds and I have Cowboys. I make a big rer-raise. He thinks and pushes and I call. A third King arrives on the river to save me from AA v KK. Very lucky indeed. I play well for the remainder of the session and run up another nice win pushing up my win-rate to 17PTBB/100 which works out at $21 per hour (plus bonus).
Still running very hot of course and probably about double my expectation. Once again a big thank you to Dan Harrington for transforming my game.
