Thanks for the input. I did reraise to $5 - slightly over the min-raise and was called by the small blind. I thought I had the odds to call the BigBlind and see the logic in isolating him as I did. My concern is that my bet would ensure I would be looked up by the top of SB range ie TT or 99 and I would fold out weaker pairs that might be tempted to call the raise and see the flop. Any merits in this thinking or does the AQ possibility mean I have to raise and deny him seeing a flop? Alternatively is there any point in just shoving and increase the chance of getting him to fold his entire range.

reshoving would be my stnd play at these levels, cause while on btp the minraise is the #1 supertell and treated w/ respect out the butt, anyone playing NL10 doesnt have a clue.

I wouldn't expect SB to call a min 4-bet very often. If I thought that was at all likely I would just shove. You don't really want SB in the hand at all as 88 doesn't play well 3-ways with little or no money behind. You want to be all-in heads up against the BB who has a wide range. _________________Villain: Why? Villain: How? Me: I had a feeling Villian: Sit in you cretin

You are miles ahead of the shorty's range. If he's 35/25 in a squeeze position he could have Ax down to A9, any ace suited, just about any two paint as well as any pair. SB's range is probably about right (though at $10 positional awareness isn't usually that great so I wouldn't be too surprised to see him trying to take a flop with a suited connector or hand like AJs too). Reshove away (and sigh as donk has AA)

I dont hate his play if he has AA?

So it looks as if I should just have shoved.
