Another day another dollar

My biggest miscalculation yesterday was how long it would take me to clear a mere 42 raked hands to earn my US$100 Wild Jack Bonus. I initially thought one hour only. Then I thought, great I'll two table and be done in half and hour and keep Mrs P. happy. Two and half hours later as I finish my last hand I've earned $1 I've got myself in the bad books big style.

Very frustrating grinding. As I speak to Moocher on the phone I have a run of about 8 big pocket pairs in the space of 5-10 mins. None of them get paid off beyond my pre-flop raise until QQ earns a $15 pot payoff against two short stacks allins.

My 25NL win-rate shrinks to 8PTBB/100 although combined with the 30 of last night 50NL hands it works out a more healthy 10.71PTBB/100 - above my target.

-I also played for 20 mins after work while waiting for Mrs P to get back from Disneyland with the little chap. Recover US$13 playing 10NL there making some amends for my disastrous spell there last week.
Elsewhere...
- Paradise ignore my last email. They asked me for a new username to set-up an account in US$. I suggested 'dormant' as my user-name, giving them a small clue as to how often I'll be playing there.
- I email Wild Jack to claim my bonus.
- My books arrive from Internettexasholdem.com. I kick off with Sklansky/Miller's No Limit Hold'em - Theory and Practice.

Moocher asks 'Does it just say the same as all the other books?'.

Yes indeed just another one of these boring poker gurus trying to instil winning habits. Nothing you need concern yourself with Moocher.

Moocher takes the plunge into 10NL managing 2 hours and winning 0.13c. Not assuaged by the fact that it also translates into $20 bonus money he opts to return to his favoured speed tourneys.
Moocher reports another dry run on the $6 levels so he steps up to be able to avoid the so called chancers that are calling him down and then delights in winning a decent prize. He drops down again after this success and his dry run continues for the next two games. With his balance now at US$400 he is running at -$155. He emails Empire for details on his current bonus status.

I guess I've added US$144 to my roll but it doesn't feel like I am up. With an unhappy wife considering heading off to the races tonight I'm debating whether I should have a night off or not before launching into Mission 'Golden Riviera'.

Any action deadly?

Won $35 on Cardoza last night 6handed 50nl. Table was very tight passive at first and managed to get up to $100, but donked off $15 before the table broke up with a string of small pocket pairs. Two LAG types had joined and I wasn't hitting any flops so didn't fancy losing all my profit raising their chunky cbets.
