Untold Secrets of Poker

So after Moocher's tales of the demon hand reader (still waiting on the hand history Moocher) I've carried out some internet investigating.

Found this on youtube which purports to be showing real time info on your opponents hole cards.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AXFCsQtPBE

It links to a site where whatever they are selling costs US$29.99 and I have to admit I'm a little curious.

I've found a 'review' of it on the net which seems to be a sales pitch but indicates you are getting a 100 page document. Not sure how a document is going to enable you to see hole cards. If it is possible then you surely need software.

My normal presumption here would be that this a scam. Once they take the money off you they could send you 'how to play winning poker' type book. You can hardly go to the internet police can you? Even if you could I don't think the line of I was trying to buy software that allowed me to steal money would go down to well with the local constabulary.

However given how recently the video (June 8th) was put online I'm not writing it off as a definite scam just yet.

While I'm sure doing this is very, very difficult I'm sure it is theoretically possible. I guess it has to be one of two possible routes a) some form of hacking and I can't see Joe Bloggs being able to download some software and achieve this although that seems to be what they are suggesting can be done. b) They have some kind of malsoftware or virus on people's computers that is sending real-time information on their hole-cards.

If by buying and installing the software on your computer you are actually the one who is then sending out info on your own hole cards that would be an interesting twist. Cheating the cheaters as it were.

The other major issue that Deadly raised and that I agree with is that why if you had the ability to do this would you market it on the internet and if you had this ability would you be showing of in a low stakes sit n go. Very good point but I think I can piece together a situation where this might just happen.

If you are computer whizz kid and capable of doing this then you can make shot loads of money. However you are breaking the law. It would be theft pure and simple and jail time could be pretty hefty. There would be some big time lobbying from the many corporate giants that control online gaming to put you away for a very long time. You would be made an example of.
Might it not be easier to charge US$30 a time where you don't have to break the law. If it works I think you would be looking atrealistically making hundreds of thousands from this.

So the person at Moochers table. He hears from a friend about it and tries it for himself and flaunts it. Maybe not someone that even plays poker or plays low stakes sit n gos. You would try it out on the game you normally play. A bit stupid to flaunt it of course but not an impossibility.

Moocher's complaints to support went unresponded to. I'll have a look at the hand history before trying to draw any more conclusions. Hopefully it includes the table chat.

Anything in it? Moocher I presume you are convinced already its for real.

I think that the whole thing is an elaborate hoax by Moocher designed to result in some kind of "and then they hacked into my account" scenario - to cover up the unfortunate decline in his bank roll.
