Live from Drop

The moll and I hand over little phillbertito to the helper and head off for some texas holdem action. I'd called the venue Drop earlier and told they were already full but we were welcome to come down and see if a place materialised ,which fortunately it did.

The moll ended up on table 'a' and I played at table 'c'. 4 tables in total.
Blinds started at 1/2 and stack sizes at 300. I predictably fold my first dozen hands and watch the table. I notice a donkey straight off two to my left. Three to my left the guy seems solid, the chinese guy next to him seems to make over-emphatic bets(mr overbet). To his left the only girl at the table seems solid(Ms Solid). To her left we have an american (mr us) who seems tightish and another donkey to my right.
All flops are being seen and bet sizes are wishy washy not chasing away draws.
Blinds up to 2/4 before I play my first hand.
Its folded round to the lady who raises to 16 small blind folds. I call with 10 10.
Its a dry flop 9xx.
I raise 25 and she calls.
Another low card hits and I check. She checks behind.
I value bet to 20$ on the river putting her on a medium pair or ak.
She calls and mucks.
Mr overbet ends up getting called by mr us when mr overbet shoves with just 33 but Mr US had limped with jj and called the allin. He doesn’t hit a 3 and and his stack drops below $100.
He goes all in several times again over the next rounds uncalled.
I raise from cutoff with 99 and he puts me allin from the BB.
I call, He shows kj and I win the race.
With blinds 5/10 I begin stealing pots in position.
Twice I take it down uncontested and twice a c-bet is required but I've still not lost a pot.
I'm now the big stack and being shown the respect I deserve!
Two donkeys get stacked then Mr us gets allin in a blind battle with Miss Solid.
His 22 loses to her j8s! 'How can you call with J8s' he said.
'How can you reraise allin with 22!' she quips.
Now one major donkey remaining who has a decent stack despite some horrible calls.
Blinds now 10/20.
And we have two people added to the table. Lady #2 who joins us is very short and when its folded to me I raise to $80 from the cutoff with 22. She calls a bet of 80.
Flop comes 448. She goes allin for her last 68.
I call and she turns over j4. Ouch.
My stack takes its first dent.
Now with blinds at 50/100 the donkey limps utg.
The decent player calls too and its folded to me in the small blind.
With 99 and out of position I reckon I am best here and out of position I'm happy to take it down a 350$ pot.
With around $800 left I go allin and get called by the donkey with k 10.
10 on the turn and I lose a huge pot and I'm wounded badly.
Down to $120 with just more than one BB and just three hands to see before I'm blinded out I go allin utg with k3. Big blind calls adding in a mere 20 more and his a5 holds up to send me crashing out. Finished 13th I believe.

The moll seemed to win over a few fans with her playing. Lots of table talk at her table. One tiny american that well call 'cocksure' who could pull off a nice riffle and a mouthy australian to boot who had her clocked 'as the most dangerous player at the table'
The moll plays tight and watches most people who seem to be happy playing any two. She has felted two people already including trip 5s taking out a pair of 9s. Cocksure is bossing the table though and is the big stack. She checks in the big blind with a5o. 25/50 blinds with utg+1 and cocksure in cutoff both calling.
Flop : ac 2c3s
Pot: 150 and she leads 75. Utg+1 folds and cocksure minraises to 150. She minreraises straight back to 300 to see if she is good. He calls.
Flop: 4 spades
The moll hits her straight and pushes cocksure takes a long time to decide, calculating pot odds and trying to put her on a hand.
He decides, says he puts her on two pair and calls.
She can't quite recall how much she had behind her. Maybe another $500 into a $900 pot so it must have been a close call for him.
He shows ac8c.
Giving him just 9 outs and the moll a great chance to become outright chip leader. A 7c comes on the river filling his flush and the moll's first poker tourney comes to an abrupt halt.
But she loved every minute of it comparing all the players to famous pros which they loved. A free vodka minature for all and a free drink for anyone staying to the last hand. Not sure what the prizes were but it was professionally run and a good atmosphere.
The moll and I are back next week for revenge!
We left to catch the ferry as the last table was formed and we witness some controversy as we leave.
I missed the preflop action but first to act had betted $500 into a 643 flop with a juicy pot already created and had been called by Mr Cool who has position.
The dealer Mr Cocksure screws up and thinks they are both allin and burns and turns the turn and river. When the error of his ways are pointed out a solution has to be found. The solution is that both the turn and river are placed back in the pack, its reshuffled and a new turn card is dealt. This time it’s a King. Mr French seems pained by the new card but eventually pushes. Mr Cool calls and its showdown time. Mr French flips KJ - nice act! He hit on the turn the second time around. Mr Cool shows QQ! And he has just lost to one of three outs when the river doesn't help him.
I reckon that the turn should have remained and that only the river should have gone back into the pack to be reshuffled.
Good fun all round and drinks weren't that overpriced at $32 a bottle with free grub. I'll post details later for next week as it seems you have to sign up to get a slot. Its been running for 10 weeks now and there are a number of regulars.

Meanwhille Deadly plays for real money and rakes up another $40 quick smart. Seems like he might be enjoying a 2K celebratory tipple this weekend.
