After completing Golden Riviera bonus I had to decide where the bonus trail would take me next. First site to appear on the radar was William Hill which seems to be the best bonus available now. They pay you £5 per hour to play for the first 5 hours you play a month. Plus an additional first deposit bonus which works out at £/$11.50 an hour. I had a few dilemmas that I wanted to mull over though.
1) Should I play in £ or US$. My preference is $ as I won't have to worry about conversion fees. Also £100nl is a bit scary! However a lot of players seem to regret giving up what is essentially double the bonus.
2) Am I ready for 100nl. My results at 50nl though a very small sample would indicate I can be confident making the step up with a safety net of 5BB/hour. However I'm a bit short of 20 buy-ins. If I wait until I hit $2100 that would psychologically be a good place to start.
3) Do I want to miss out on $50 because I'm chicken?
I'll mull it over today and try and come with a new site that can hopefully take me over the 2k line.
Action last night. I piss about on party and end up losing playing full ring 10nl three tabling. After 6 maxing its hard to adjust as I call down an overbet on the river after checking kk on the turn. Lost to trip 8s. Guess he was going for the check raise on the turn, bah. Decide to play a sng instead for a bit more action. Out on the bubble a couple of times. I try a 3$ step tourney and crash out. I then try an $11 sng and end up at 4 handed raising allin on the button with kqs. Get called by j4o! 4 hits and I'm out on the bubble. My party stack has diminished by $35 now and I try one more $11 sng. Down to 4 handed again and its a real strategic battle. Big stack is stealing from middle stacks. 2nd stack from 3rd stack. Little stack is playing aggressive until he overtakes someone and the pressure is then placed on him.
I hovered on the short stack three times and each time raised by way out of trouble. Three times the short stack was called and won a race leaving both the big stack and small stacks as the new medium stacks and creating a new small stack and big stack.
Eventually after 30mins two similar sized stacks get in a race and we are down to three and in the money. I take out the small stack and we are down to two. The guy remaining has become super aggressive for the past 20 mins and has being getting away with it. He raises to 2,400 on the first heads-up hand with Blinds of 800. I have k2 suited but think he will fold so put him allin. He thinks for an age and calls with A3.
A 2 on the flop and another 2 on the turn mean I get lucky and win $50 making amends for all the previous bubbling and dumb calling. The most positive news was the guy to go out on the bubble was called Celticfc1967. Get it up you ya potato eating unwashed beggar!

What conversion fees are you worried about? WH allows you to play in $ I think. If not the same rate of exchange is used in both directions in any case. I started there - back in my halcyon days of limit poker...ah life was so simple then.
Of course you should try 100NL. You are tight as chuff anyway (I mean a rock)- just carry on and you'll be fine. Could start at 9 man though?
100 attracts people who think that lower limits are for poofs - but they are still shite.
